Ergonomic Vehicle Assessment Training

Training your Occupational Health Staff

Organisations with employees who have a high annual mileage or who spend a significant part of their working day driving, may from time to time develop musculoskeletal symptoms which are aggravated by or caused by the vehicle they drive. In these circumstances we can undertake an Ergonomic Vehicle Assessment, or in a one-day course we can train your own Occupational Health staff to undertake these assessments following which they will have the skills to advise on any adaptations to seated posture or job task,  or if an alternative vehicle may be required.

The course is designed to provide the vehicle assessor with the following skills:

  • Awareness of risks to health associated with driving and vehicle use
  • Identification and assessments of potential musculoskeletal risks to staff driving vehicles
  • Awareness of the correct posture in the vehicle and be able to address this during the vehicle assessment
  • Recommend and implement appropriate changes
  • Documentation of the assessment

The course has both theoretical and practical content. A course manual is provided which includes vehicle and assessment report templates.
